I think fall may have officially come…my fingers are crossed. Today has been rainy and cool. While I welcome the cool weather, I hope the rain dies down, although it’s not expected to stop for a few days. Normally I love rain (when I can stay inside), but since we’re building a house, rain means building delays.
Last Friday, John and I went and visited with the builder and we walked through our home! It was essentially just wood 🙂 The house framing process took place last week. It’s amazing to see how much can happen in a week. The first picture below was taken 12 days ago. The next two pictures were taken just 6 days after that.
Yesterday we learned from the builder that the exterior colors we selected were back-ordered, so we needed to pick new colors. Instead of having wineberry (red) shutters, we are going to have navy blue shutters. Navy blue shutters weren’t an option when we first went to the design center. I love navy blue, so I am excited to see how it turns out.
We make weekly visits out to see the house. As the building progresses, we’ll probably go see it at least a couple of times each week. Our pre-dry wall inspection is in about a week and a half.
In non-house-building news, I made a fall wreath to encourage the fall weather to come, and I think it worked 😉 Michaels had a great sale on fall foliage. I decided to try my hand at making a wreath. I was very happy with how it turned out.
A couple of weekends ago, John and I ventured into DC to walk around the monuments on a Friday evening. We had fun walking around and enjoying the beautiful scenery.
