Waiting for Baby #2

I figured I would do a quick post on pregnancy number 2. I’m not one for taking monthly “bump” pictures or recording all the details of my pregnancy, but I figured I’d post a few things. We are less than three weeks from baby girl’s due date. My mom gets here a week from today and will stay with us for a month.

This pregnancy has been very different than my first. Thankfully both have been low-risk with no complications. The side effects of pregnancy are what have been different. The first time around, I got severe headaches during the first trimester. This time, I rarely got a headache, although I felt more nauseous during the first trimester. During my third trimester with David, I would wake up with painful leg cramps in the middle of the night. This time, that has only happened once. I did increase my potassium intake this time around to help combat that side effect, which wasn’t a problem since I love bananas! During the third trimester of this pregnancy, the funny side effect I’m experiencing is a near constant tingling of the fingertips of my right hand. Thankfully, it’s not painful and very manageable.

We’re excited for baby girl to arrive. We’ve switched David to his new bedroom, and added some pink touches to the nursery. I’m waiting for a new floor lamp to arrive, and once that does, I’ll take some pictures and post them up. The preparation this time around has been loads easier since we just had a baby 16 months ago. We even have leftover newborn diapers from last time haha.

Truthfully, I think I’m more excited than I was last time. I didn’t really know what to expect when David was born, and I think I felt more anxious. I didn’t know what it would be like to be a mom. Now that I am a mom and get to have a front-row seat watching David grow and develop, I’m excited to experience this again and watch the two of them grow together. David brings so much joy to our lives, and I look forward to that joy increasing.

I did take one bump picture when I was nearly 7 months, just so I’d have it.
